
Kateryna Yushchenko Meets with Polish Cinematographers

May 20, 2007, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko and Director General of the Molodist International Film Festival Andriy Khalpakhchi met with representatives of the Polish Film Institute.
Renowned Polish film director Andrzej Wajda, representing Poland at the 60th International Cannes Film Festival, also took part in the meeting.
In course of the meeting, representatives of the Polish Film Institute spoke about Poland’s successful experience in creating necessary legislation and infrastructure for developing the film industry.
Mr. Wajda, head of the Polish Master School of Film Directing, proposed the Ukraine 3000 Fund to cooperate in organizing training for young Ukrainian directors.
At the end of the meeting, Mrs. Kateryna thanked Mr. Wajda for his outstanding contribution into the world cinema and invited him to visit Ukraine.
Mrs. Yushchenko and other members of the Ukraine 3000 Fund is staying in Cannnes, taking part in the 60th International Cannes Film Festival and events aimed at popularizing the Ukrainian cinema. May 17, she took part in the Ukrainian Molodist International Film Festival presentation, and May 19th – in the Cannes Film Market.
