
Kateryna Yushchenko Meets Sumy Oblast Prominent Women

May 10, 2007, Head of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Supervisory Board Kateryna Yushchenko met with Sumy Oblast prominent women. Among other participants of the event were Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Health Protection Tetiana Bakhteyeva and Ukraine 3000 Fund representatives.
Around 30 renowned Sumy ladies were present at the meeting, representing public and charitable organizations, mass media, business, law enforcement agencies, medicine, athletes, teachers, and people of the culture.
Representatives of the Sumy oblast women’s community told the guests about the organizations and movements they represented or headed, and shared their urgent problems.
Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko spoke about the Ukraine 3000 Fund’s activities, its priority areas and programs. In part, she spoke in more detail about medical and educational programs, placing special emphasis on the Children’s Hospital of the Future project.
Mrs. Bakhteyeva outlined major activities of her Verkhovna Rada committee and the initiatives aimed at improving Ukraine’s healthcare system and introducing respective changes to the legislation.
Kateryna Yushchenko gave to all those present the Ukrainian Women in History book.
This was the final event on the schedule of Head of the Ukraine 3000 Fund Supervisory Board Kateryna Yushchenko’s and Ukraine 3000 Fund representatives’ one-day working trip to Sumy. They have also visited the Sumy Suprun Boarding School for Orphaned Children and Children, Deprived of Parents’ Care, Sumy Oblast Children’s Clinical Hospital, Sumy National Agricultural University, and Sumy Oblast Local History Museum.
