Korea-Based CommeDefen Co. Ltd. Donates an Ambulance to the Ukraine 3000 Fund

19 December 2006 15:49

December 19, 2006, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko visited the Child’s Development Children’s Center in Seoul.

Mrs. Yushchenko was given a tour of the Center’s facilities and talked to its pupils. She was accompanied by Head of the Supervisory Board of the Yuk Yeongsu Foundation Mrs. Park Kung-Yong and the Center’s Director Lee Yong-Dee. The Child’s Development Children’s Center was founded with the assistance of the Yuk Yeongsu Foundation, which remains patronizing this institution.

At the Child’s Development Center President of CommeDefen Co. Ltd. Kim Hyop Chou handed over to the Ukraine 3000 Fund an ambulance. At the ceremony Mr. Chou said that his company has been working with Ukrainian entrepreneurs for a long period and intends to contribute into improving the situation with children’s medicine in Ukraine. Mrs. Yushchenko, in her turn, thanked the CommeDefen Co. Ltd. and promised that the ambulance would be given to one of the oblast children’s hospitals, participants of the Ukraine 3000 Fund’s Hospital to Hospital Program. “Today Ukraine is celebrating St. Nicholas’s Day, when by tradition adults make presents to the kids. We thank you for this beautiful present the Ukrainian children received today from your company,” Mrs. Yushchenko said.

Recall that in October 2005 ambulances were handed over to the Kirovohrad, Zakarpattia, and Luhansk oblasts children’s hospitals and the Cherkasy Territorial Emergency and Disaster Medicine Territorial Center. Four reanimobiles with total cost over 1.5 million hryvnias were handed to them by the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund and Procter and Gamble Ukraine Company. These reanimobliles, being put at service at Ukraine’s children’s hospitals and centers, have saved many children’s lives.

Mrs. Yushchenko is accompanying President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko on his state visit to the Republic of Korea.
