Kateryna Yushchenko Visits the Checkpoint Charlie Museum in Berlin
October 3, 2006, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko visited the Checkpoint Charlie Museum in Berlin.
Checkpoint Charlie, the former American checkpoint between Eastern and Western Berlin, has become a Cold War symbol of a kind. In 1963, an exhibition was open on its premises, dedicated to the history of the Cold War and Berlin Wall. One of its rooms is dedicated to Ukraine.
Mrs. Yushchenko has viewed the museum display and presented it a book on the Manmade Famine of 1932-1933 in Ukraine. The museum administration addressed Mrs. Yushchenko with a request to help them in enriching its Ukrainian Room.
On October 3-4, 2006, Mrs. Yushchenko took part in President Viktor Yushchenko of Ukraine’s working visit to the Federative Republic of Germany.
