Kateryna Yushchenko Takes Part in a Grand Soiree to Honor the Delegates of the 31st session of the General Assembly of the International Council of Women

September 9, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko took part in a grand soiree to honor the delegates of the 31st session of the General Assembly of the International Council of Women.

In her speech Mrs. Yushchenko thanked the International Council of Women for having admitted Ukraine as its member when our country still wasn’t on the world map and for condemning the Manmade famine – genocide of the Ukrainian people.

Mrs. Yushchenko also expressed her hope that all members of the session of the General Assembly of the International Council of Women enjoyed their stay in Kyiv and that they would like to come here again, this time together with their families.

Among other guests at the reception were President of the International Council of Women Anamah Tan, Head of the National Council of Women of Ukraine Iryna Holubeva, Deputy Minister for Family, Youth, and Sports Tetiana Kondratiuk, Head of the Zhytomyr Oblast Rada Iryna Synivska, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada, delegates of the International Council of Women from five continents, representing 38 countries, and 200 active members of Ukraine’s women’s movement.

The International Council of Women is the world’s oldest public organization founded in 1888.

The National Council of Women of Ukraine unites 22 biggest all-Ukrainian and international women’s public organizations of Ukraine and is member of the International Council of Women since 2000.

The goal of the National Women’s Movement of Ukraine is coordinating the actions of women’s public organizations aimed at improving women’s position in the state, promoting their role and social status; preventing human trafficking and supporting violence victims; cultural, educational, and charitable activities; establishing international contacts.
