
Kateryna Yushchenko and Eva Koehler Attend an Odesa Orphanage

Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Kateryna Yushchenko and patron of the UNICEF children’s fund, wife of the President of Germany Mrs. Eva Luise Koehler visited the Doroha Dodomu [The Way Home] Orphanage in Odesa.
Mrs. Yushchenko and Koehler talked to the children and their teachers, discussing social adaptation of the homeless children with the orphanage’s staff. The guests also attended a brief concert, organized by children in their honor.
On behalf of the Ukraine 3000 Foundation Mrs. Yushchenko presented the orphanage an icon, as well as some books for its library and toys.
The event was also participated by representatives of Ukraine’s Health Ministry and Family, Youth, and Sports Ministry, along with Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation and UNICEF.
The Temporary Stay Center for Homeless Children, founded by the Doroha Dodomu Odesa City Charitable Foundation, is under the aegis of UNICEF. Homeless children can either stay at the Center permanently or visit it. The Center’s staff offer their pupils various educative and art programs, as well as psychological support, and suggest ways for social adaptation.
