On behalf of Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation, Mrs. Yushchenko presented the children with creativity kits, books, toys, and various sports equipment.

Mrs. Yushchenko visited the Snoezelen therapy room, equipped with the grant received within the framework of the Joy of the Childhood – Free Movements program. The Dzherela CA was one of the winners of the Second All-Ukrainian Grant Program, receiving equipment and funds for remodeling this room to the total of around UAH 20,000. The Center’s staff workers and wards demonstrated to Mrs. Kateryna the work of the Snoezelen therapy room.

The Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation places high emphasis on book publishing and distribution. The Foundation replenishes book funds of Ukrainian medical and educational facilities, libraries, and museums with mini-libraries, book sets, albums, its own publications on regular basis and carries out actions on donating books to institutions and private persons.

The action will take place May 29 – June 1, 2009. Its key event will be the Beneficial Children’s Book Fair with the participation of leading Ukrainian publishing houses, featuring presentations, autograph sessions by renowned Ukrainian writers, and entertainment for children. Also, there will be a fundraiser and collecting book donations for Ukrainian boarding schools.

Addressing the audience, Mrs. Yushchenko thanked the Italian party for fruitful cooperation within the framework of the MELO project and expressed her hope for it to be continued. She noted that the Ukraine 3000 Foundation would support initiatives extending this cooperation. Mrs. Kateryna also invited Italian doctors to visit Ukraine.
