
6,000 People Commemorate Holodomor Victims in Kyiv
Around 6,000 people gathered together at the St. Michael’s Square in Kyiv to pay tribute to the memory of the victims of the 1932-1933 Holodomor.
People were holding state banners with crape bands and lit candles.
At 4:00 p.m., President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko addressed the participants of the event.
A memorial service for Holodomor victims took place at St. Michael’s Cathedral.
At 4:30 the mourners placed their candles on the sidewalk in St. Michael’s Square.
Recall that November 24, 2007, Ukraine commemorates the victims of the Manmade Famine of 1932-1933 (Holodomor).
