Second Doing Good Starts with You Charitable Projects Competition

The Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation makes public the conditions of the Second Doing Good Starts with You charitable projects competition for the academic year 2008-2009. The start of the competition was announced by Head of the Supervisory Board of the Foundation Kateryna Yushchenko September 19, 2008, at the plenary session of the Artek Dialogs Annual Educational Forum.

We invite to participate children’s teams from schools and after-school educational institutions, public unions and organizations. We also encourage local authorities, communities, socially responsible business, and everybody who cares to join the project.

The project’s key objective is uniting its participants’ efforts and experience to revive the tradition of charity in Ukraine and stimulate children’s philanthropic initiatives.

Charitable projects in the following fields will be admitted to the competition:

  • social;
  • ecological;
  • cultural.
     

The deadline for applications is December 1, 2008.

The applications will be considered and selected during December 2008 – March 2009.

The winners will be announced in April-May 2009.

Charitable projects to be admitted to the competition are to be implemented within the competition’s time span. Also, permanent and long-term projects can be submitted, if their stages coincide with the contest’s terms (December 2008 – March 2009). The events whose terms are outside the framework of the competition will not be considered by the National Contest Committee.

The National Contest Committee will select three winners (first, second, and third place winners) within every thematic nomination (social, cultural, and ecological), to be awarded with the Foundation’s certificates, valuable prizes, and money prizes.

Application requirements:

To take part in the competition, a set of materials is to be submitted to the National Contest Committee (the original and four copies).

The materials have to be typed on the computer in Times New Roman, font size 12 for the main text and size 10 for supplementary text, with single spacing, printed out on one side of A4 paper.

The Doing Good Starts with You program was launched by the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation with the support of the Ministry for Education and Science of Ukraine and Ministry for Family, Youth, and Sports, jointly with the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine in 2007-2008. The total of 220 was submitted to the first contest, from which the National Contest Committee selected 112. The winners were awarded at a ceremony held within the framework of the Doing Good Starts with You international conference May 23, 2008.
