Bloom, Ukrainians 2008-2009 Program To Support Diaspora Organizations
The Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation notifies about the start of the Bloom, Ukrainians program to support diaspora organizations, announced by Head of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation Kateryna Yushchenko at the Diaspora as a Factor of Consolidating the Ukrainian State in the Global Community congress. The program envisages financial aid for implementing projects aimed at popularizing the Ukrainian language and culture in the countries where exist Ukrainian communities.
By this step the Ukraine 3000 Foundation wants, first of all, to urge the Ukrainian society to support its diaspora, whose members serve as bearers and popularizers of the Ukrainian language and culture among the global community. Though the Foundation’s contribution is relatively small, with this step we would like to show how important are the diaspora’s efforts to preserve our language and culture and expand them in the foreign language-speaking environment.
Diaspora organizations, registered outside Ukraine and working on popularizing the Ukrainian language and culture within and outside their communities, can become the program’s participants. The program envisages support for diaspora communities in the Central and Eastern Europe, Asia, and Latin America (for the details, see the Regulations on the Program). Since the program is designed for supplying diaspora organizations with books, films, and audio records in Ukrainian, the grants will be channeled for purchasing such materials in Ukraine for sending them abroad to the winning organizations.
To take part in the Program, one has to fill out a project proposal in accordance with the Regulations on the Bloom, Ukrainians Program To Support Diaspora Organizations.
Deadline for project proposals for the program’s first stage is August 24, 2008. Please email the project proposal and scans of the required documents to diaspora@ukraine3000.org.ua.
All applications, answering the program’s requirements, will be considered by an expert group, with the decision to be announced in September 2008.
